Why your explainer video isn't converting — and how to fix it

The "Feature Vomit" Problem

Most explainer videos fail in the first 10 seconds because they start by explaining the product. Your audience doesn't care about your product. They care about their problem.

If your video starts with "Meet our revolutionary new dashboard..." you have already lost. It needs to start with "Are you tired of manually exporting CSVs every Friday?"

The Golden Rule: Spend the first 25% of the video agitating the problem. Show them you understand their pain before introducing your solution.

Visual Parity

We are currently living in a sea of "Corporate Memphis" art styles—those flat, geometric characters with giant limbs. If your video looks exactly like your competitor's video, your brand equity is zero. Custom asset creation matters.

The Missing CTA

A surprising number of B2B explainer videos end with a generic URL fade out. What exactly do you want the viewer to do? "Book a demo" is different from "Start a free trial." The video's narrative arc must point directly at that specific CTA.
