DRONE VIDEOGRAPHY AND SURVEY

The shot that changes how your audience understands the scale of what you built.

See it from above.
Say it without words.

Studio iQ operates professional drone videography and aerial survey services across India for corporate productions, real estate marketing, infrastructure documentation, construction progress monitoring, and cinematic establishing shots. Every flight is CAA-compliant, fully insured, and operated by certified pilots who understand both the technical and creative requirements of what they are in the air to capture.

Hero Image — Drone videography in action or a cinematic aerial still. Could show a professional drone in flight over a large real estate development, industrial facility, or landscape with a sense of scale and visual drama. Alternatively a cinematic aerial establishing shot that demonstrates the quality of the footage Studio iQ produces from the air.

WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS

Drone footage is not a feature.
It is a perspective that changes
what the audience understands.

Supporting Image — Cinematic aerial shot from a drone production. Could show a sweeping aerial view of a real estate development, an industrial facility from above, a coastline with infrastructure, or a construction site photographed from the air with cinematic quality and compositional intelligence. Should communicate the visual power of an aerial perspective done properly.

There are things a drone can show that no ground-based camera ever could. The true scale of a development that is impossible to convey from street level. The relationship between a facility and its surrounding landscape that only becomes visible from three hundred feet. The progress of a construction project across eighteen months of time-lapse that makes the complexity of the build feel like a choreographed sequence. These are not production flourishes. They are visual arguments that ground-based cameras cannot make.

Studio iQ operates professional drone videography services across India using cinema-grade aerial platforms — not consumer drones with cameras attached. The difference is visible in every frame. Cinema-grade aerial equipment produces footage with the stability, colour depth, dynamic range, and resolution that the productions we integrate it into demand. Our drone operators are not just licensed pilots — they are cinematographers who happen to work from the air.

Every drone operation Studio iQ undertakes is conducted with full compliance to Civil Aviation Authority of India regulations. We hold all required permissions, operate within approved flight zones, carry full production liability insurance, and manage the regulatory requirements of every aerial shoot as part of our standard production process. Our clients do not need to navigate the permissions process. We handle it completely.

Studio iQ has been conducting aerial productions across India for real estate developers, infrastructure companies, manufacturing facilities, event producers and corporate film clients. The perspective from the air changes what is possible to communicate — and we have been making that argument in footage for over a decade.

WHAT WE PRODUCE

Six aerial production services.
Every one compliant, insured,
and built to deliver.

Card Image — Cinematic aerial footage for a film or campaign. A dramatic aerial establishing shot that could appear in a corporate film or brand campaign — communicates visual scale, production quality and cinematic intent.

01

Cinematic Aerial Filming

Aerial cinematography for corporate films, brand campaigns, product launch films and advertising productions. Studio iQ integrates drone footage into productions as a creative tool — not as a default opening shot, but at the specific moment in a film where the aerial perspective changes what the audience understands about what they are watching. We plan aerial sequences as part of the overall production rather than treating them as an add-on captured by a separate team.

Card Image — Real estate aerial videography. An aerial shot of a residential development, commercial property or mixed-use project from above — showing scale, location context and the quality of the development in a single frame.

02

Real Estate Aerial Videography

Real estate developments are best understood from the air. The scale of the site, the quality of the surrounding location, the relationship between the development and the infrastructure around it — these are arguments that ground-based photography cannot make. Studio iQ produces aerial videography for residential developments, commercial real estate, mixed-use projects and land parcels across India, integrated into property marketing films and digital campaign assets.

Card Image — Construction progress documentation from the air. An aerial view of a construction site at a specific stage of development — communicating scale, progress and the complexity of the build.

03

Construction Progress Documentation

Construction progress documentation from the air gives developers, contractors and investors a clear, consistent record of a project at every stage of its build. Studio iQ conducts regular aerial documentation flights for construction projects — weekly, monthly or at key milestone stages — producing a visual record that serves as a project management tool, an investor update asset, and the source material for a time-lapse film that tells the story of the entire build.

Card Image — Industrial or infrastructure aerial survey. An aerial view of a manufacturing facility, industrial plant, solar farm, port or infrastructure project — communicating scale and operational complexity from a perspective only possible from the air.

04

Industrial and Infrastructure Surveys

Industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, solar and wind energy installations, ports, highways and large-scale infrastructure projects require a visual record and inspection capability that ground-based teams cannot provide efficiently or safely. Studio iQ conducts aerial surveys for industrial and infrastructure clients — producing high-resolution visual records, inspection footage, and survey data used for asset management, investor reporting, regulatory compliance and insurance documentation.

Card Image — Event aerial coverage. An aerial view of a large outdoor corporate event, product launch, activation or gathering — communicates the scale and energy of the event from a perspective unavailable to any ground-based camera.

05

Event Aerial Coverage

Large-scale outdoor events, corporate activations, product launches and brand experiences take on an entirely different visual dimension from the air. Studio iQ provides aerial coverage for outdoor events as part of an integrated event film production — giving the final film an establishing shot that communicates the scale and ambition of the event before a single ground-level frame has played.

Card Image — Aerial mapping or topographic survey output. Could show a processed aerial map, an orthomosaic image of a site, or a 3D model generated from aerial survey data — communicating the technical precision and data quality of professional aerial survey work.

06

Aerial Mapping and Topographic Survey

Survey-grade drone operations for land mapping, topographic surveys, site analysis, and spatial data collection. Studio iQ operates survey-grade aerial platforms with RTK GPS capability, producing orthomosaic maps, digital elevation models and 3D point cloud data for engineering, construction, agricultural and environmental clients. Survey outputs are delivered in the file formats required for integration with GIS software, CAD platforms and project management systems.

COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY

Every flight we operate is legal,
insured, and managed so you
do not have to think about it.

Drone operations in India are regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority of India under the Drone Rules 2021. Every commercial drone operation requires a certified Remote Pilot Licence, a registered Unmanned Aircraft System, and in many cases a specific flight permission from the DGCA's Digital Sky platform depending on the airspace zone and operational requirements. Studio iQ holds all of these. Our drone operators carry current Remote Pilot Licences, our equipment is registered under the Digital Sky UIN system, and we manage the flight permission process for every operation we conduct.

We carry full production liability insurance covering third-party liability for all aerial operations. We conduct a site safety assessment before every flight, identifying restricted airspace, obstacle hazards, and operational constraints that affect the flight plan. We brief clients on operational constraints that may affect the creative brief — because discovering a flight restriction on the day of the shoot is a problem that proper planning eliminates completely.

For clients in sensitive locations — near airports, in controlled airspace, on government or defence-adjacent sites — we have experience managing the specific permission processes required. We tell you at the brief stage what is possible, what requires additional permissions, and what the timeline for those permissions is. No surprises on the day.

Every flight. Every location.

HOW WE WORK

From aerial brief to final delivery.
Every flight planned. Every frame
captured with intention.

Drone production done properly is not just flying a camera. It is understanding the airspace, planning the shots, managing the compliance, and arriving at the edit with footage that serves the creative brief. Studio iQ manages every step.

We start with the creative or survey brief and conduct an immediate airspace assessment for the proposed location. This covers the airspace classification, any temporary flight restrictions, proximity to airports or helipads, restricted zones, and the Digital Sky permission requirements for the specific operation. We tell the client at this stage what is straightforwardly achievable, what requires a specific permission and how long that will take, and what is not operationally possible in the proposed location. This conversation happens before any production costs are committed.

We produce a flight plan covering take-off and landing zones, flight paths, altitude requirements for the creative brief, battery and range planning for the scope of the shoot, and contingency plans for weather and operational constraints. Where Digital Sky flight permissions are required we submit the application and manage the approval process. For locations requiring additional local permissions — from municipal authorities, landowners, or venue management — we manage those conversations as part of the pre-production process.

We conduct the aerial operation with a certified pilot and a ground crew responsible for safety monitoring, communications, and site security during the flight. For cinematic productions the pilot works under the direction of the creative director to execute the planned shots with the precision and creative intent the production requires. For survey operations the pilot executes the planned flight path with the accuracy required for the survey data quality specified in the brief. Every flight is logged with full operational documentation.

For cinematic productions we deliver graded and edited aerial footage integrated into the wider production, or as standalone aerial sequences in the formats required. For survey productions we process the raw aerial data into the required outputs — orthomosaic maps, digital elevation models, point clouds, or progress documentation reports — and deliver in the file formats specified for the client's downstream use. All deliverables are reviewed against the original brief before they leave the building.

WORK THAT SHOWS IT

NexTower. Aerial footage that sold
a development the ground could
never have communicated.

NexTower required a marketing film for a residential development that was still under construction. The product — the finished building — did not yet exist. The aerial production solved the brief in two ways. First, it documented the construction progress at a stage where the structural work communicated the scale of the development more powerfully than any render could. The raw concrete frame at full height, surrounded by the established neighbourhood, showed buyers exactly what they were buying into — the location, the scale, and the quality of the build — without needing the finished product to exist yet. Second, the aerial footage established the relationship between the development and its surrounding infrastructure — the proximity to key amenities, the quality of the neighbourhood, the view corridors that would define the living experience — arguments that are simply impossible to make from ground level. The aerial sequences became the foundation of the sales film. Pre-sales reached ninety-two percent of units before structural completion.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Everything you want to know before
briefing a drone videography company
in India.

Yes. Commercial drone operations in India are legal and regulated under the Drone Rules 2021 issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Operators are required to hold a Remote Pilot Licence issued by the DGCA, operate a registered Unmanned Aircraft System with a valid UIN from the Digital Sky platform, and obtain flight permissions for operations in controlled, restricted or regulated airspace zones. Studio iQ holds all required licences and registrations, manages the Digital Sky permission process for every flight, and ensures full compliance with all applicable DGCA regulations on every operation we conduct.

Drone videography costs in India range from approximately 25,000 rupees for a half-day aerial shoot at a single location with standard footage delivery, to 3 lakh rupees or more for a complex multi-location aerial production with cinema-grade equipment, flight permissions, cinematic grading and full integration into a wider film production. Survey-grade drone operations are priced based on the area to be surveyed and the data outputs required. Studio iQ provides a transparent estimate after understanding the brief, the location, the flight permission requirements, and the delivery format.

Urban drone operations in India are subject to specific airspace classifications and operational requirements. Many urban areas fall within controlled or restricted airspace zones that require advance permissions from the DGCA's Digital Sky platform before operations can be conducted. Studio iQ conducts urban aerial productions regularly across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other major cities — managing the permission process as part of the production. We assess the airspace classification for every proposed urban location at the brief stage and advise on operational feasibility and permission timelines before any production costs are committed.

Studio iQ operates cinema-grade aerial platforms including DJI Inspire and Zenmuse series cameras capable of shooting in 4K, 6K, and RAW formats with the colour depth, dynamic range and resolution required for broadcast and high-end commercial production. We do not operate consumer-grade DJI Mavic equipment for commercial productions — the difference in image quality between consumer and cinema-grade aerial platforms is significant and visible in the final footage, particularly in challenging lighting conditions. For survey operations we use platforms equipped with RTK GPS for centimetre-level positioning accuracy.

Yes. Studio iQ's aerial footage is produced to broadcast specifications and is suitable for use in television commercials, broadcast documentary productions, and streaming platform content. We shoot in the format and frame rate required for the broadcast destination — 25fps for Indian broadcast, 24fps for cinematic productions, and the specific technical requirements of international broadcasters where applicable. Broadcast suitability is confirmed at the brief stage.

For straightforward aerial productions in uncongested airspace outside controlled zones, we typically require a minimum of five to seven working days notice to confirm availability, conduct the airspace assessment, and prepare the production plan. For productions requiring Digital Sky flight permissions — which covers most urban and peri-urban locations — we recommend a minimum of two to three weeks lead time to allow for the permission process. For productions in restricted or sensitive airspace requiring DGCA approval, additional lead time may be required. We advise on this specifically for every location at the brief stage.

Yes. Studio iQ provides both cinematic videography and survey-grade data outputs from the same aerial operation where the brief requires both. Survey outputs include orthomosaic map images, digital elevation models, 3D point cloud data, and volumetric calculations. All survey data is processed using photogrammetry software and delivered in the file formats specified for the client's GIS, CAD or project management platform. Combined cinematic and survey operations are planned to meet both the creative and technical requirements without compromising either.

The first step is a discovery call — a 30-minute conversation about the location, the creative or survey objective, the timeline, and the budget. Bring the location details and we will conduct an initial airspace assessment and tell you at that call what is operationally possible, what permissions are required, and what the production would cost. We respond to all new enquiries within one working day.

We needed aerial footage for a development site in a location that three other operators had told us was not flyable. Studio iQ managed the permissions, planned the flight, and delivered footage that became the centrepiece of our entire sales campaign. The location argument we could never make from the ground finally had a visual.
